A Pandemic Baby Shower..

For the past month or so, my family and I have been questioning whether or not to continue with my baby shower. Considering the pandemic hadn't reached Montana quite yet or quite as severely, we were going to continue. In the weeks following this decision, the virus spread into our beloved state and mainly into our city with the majority of Montana cases in Gallatin County (where I live). We then decided to postpone our shower until after the baby was born.
This was such a hard decision! I was so excited for all the fun things that happen in the third trimester! Especially, since Ive been plagued with some not so fun third trimester pregnancy symptoms, the baby shower was going to serve as a nice reprieve. And now with the pandemic, I wasn't going to be able to experience all the fun things you usually get to with your first baby. I also got a bit more stressed out about our financial situation with the economy so rocky. After all, I was quitting my job, Jake and I were building a house, planning a wedding and having a baby. Can you think of anything else to add to our lives to make it any more complicated? I sure can't!
Even though the baby shower was called off, my amazing family decided to still throw me a mini shower consisting of just family! That way I can still feel the support around me and still receive some gifts of things that I still needed.
I wish I could describe the amount of gratitude I feel towards the people around me! The amount of support and excitement I feel around me right now during a scary time makes me feel so much more confident that I CAN do this mom thing.
I really do hope that all you other mommas or mommas-to-be are doing well during this time. I know that the uncertainty in the world is very scary and can leave us feeling a bit worse for wear. Please feel free to leave a comment below and let me know how you are dealing with the pandemic!
Ahhhh I can’t wait to meet the little nugget!! You are being so strong right now and I’m so proud of you!!! ❤️ PS our lives sound kinda similar 😅 I know it seems like it’s piling up so much but you definitely 10000% got this mom thing down!
